A one-day workshop on carpet manufacturing will be held at Dalton State College on Sept. 18, marking the first in a series of workshops organized by Dalton State College and the School of Polymer, Textile and Fiber Engineering (PTFE) at Georgia Tech. Sponsorship and support is being provided by the PTFE Carpet Endowment Fund.

The workshop, led by Dr. Wayne Tincher, professor emeritus of PTFE at Georgia Tech, will provide the participants with an introduction to carpet manufacturing. Topics covered in the workshop include Impact of Technology, Fibers for Carpet, Carpet Yarns, Weaving and Tufting, Carpet Coloration and Finishing.
