This past summer, Quick-Step invited designers, specifiers and architects out for a night of wine tasting on the shore of Lake Mission Viejo in California. At the "Wine & Design" gathering at the La Maison Gourmet boutique, designers and Quick-Step representatives discussed popular styles and trends in the flooring industry while sipping vintage wines.

"Quick-Step is constantly looking at new ways to provide the most innovative designs to our customers," said Ken Peden, vp of sales & marketing for Quick-Step. He noted that the event gave Quick-Step valuable input from key designers and specifiers. Based on the success of the event, Quick-Step plans to host similar gatherings on a regular basis, Peden added.

Quick-Step made headlines earlier this year when it announced that it was being bought by Mohawk Industries for $2.6 billion. The laminate maker will continue to operate independently and sell products through its existing distribution channel.
