McSwain Carpets acquires McSwain Hardwoods after decades-long separation
Cincinnati-based McSwain Carpets has acquired McSwain Hardwood Flooring Co., which broke away as a separate company from the carpet operation in 1969. The two family-owned companies will now operate under the name McSwain Carpets and sell and install more than $40 million in floor coverings in the greater Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio, markets.
“The acquisition will greatly expand our capabilities to make us as competitive in wood as we are presently in carpet, vinyl, laminate, and ceramic tile,” said Jim Leamer Sr., president and CEO of McSwain Carpets. The newly combined company will offer a full complement of hardwood flooring products and custom services ranging from installation of prefinished wood to on-site refinishing and refinishing.
