Spa lobby flooring constructed with help from Precision H2O

Elevator lobby of the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Spokane, Wash.-based waterjet firm Precision H2O recently helped construct the elevator lobby and cab flooring at the new Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Ariz. The company used waterjet technology to make a series of intricate stone cuts necessary to fabricate the flooring.
The lobby features a classic rug design created by Barry Design Associates Inc. of California. The twist is that the "rug" is made using natural stone, including limestone and granite. Precision H2O took the line drawing provided by Barry Design and transferred it into a scaled drawing. Each piece was cut, labeled and mapped for installation. Impex Development Inc. of Seattle and the Woodbine Southwest Corp. installed the pieces.
