Judy Schwartz of commercial flooring specifier Task Floors has been elected to the board of the Long Island chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. The council is instrumental in establishing LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) ratings for environmentally friendly "green" buildings.

Task Floors, based in New York City, specifies commercial flooring for education, healthcare, hospitality, retail, and other large commercial facilities. Schwartz represents the company in Long Island, Queens, and Brooklyn.

Since its founding in 1993, the U.S. Green Building Council has grown to nearly 6,000 member companies and organizations, comprising a network of more than 60 local chapters, affiliates and organizing groups.
