Laticrete International donated $14,500 to new staffer Ron Munnerlyn as a sponsorship fee for his Spec Miata racecar and the 2006 Sports Car Club of America season. Munnerlyn thanked Laticrete in a special way: he went on to win the recent Carolina Cup Pro Series Race at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, S.C.

Munnerlyn, 39, is a second-generation racer and Laticrete's recently hired plant manager for the company's Hamlet, N.C., facility. He first got behind the wheel during last year's SCCA season, where he finished 23rd out of 245.

"The willingness of Laticrete to lend their support and allow me to carry the Laticrete name across the finish line has meant to lot to me," said Munnerlyn. "Especially since I haven't even been with the company for that long. To me, it says a lot about the type of company Laticrete is."

The hood of Munnerlyn's car is adorned with the Laticrete emblem. The side panel features the logo for Laticrete's latest product, SpectraLock Pro grout.
