To celebrate its 80th anniversary, San Diego-based distributor Victor Kemp and nearly 200 loyal customers watched a heated San Diego Padres game from a rooftop overlooking Petco Park. During the nail-biting late season game, the Padres rallied from behind in the 9th inning, hitting a three-run homer to defeat the Colorado Rockies 7 to 5.
“It’s the kind of thing you hope for in a great game,” said Damon Brown, Victor Kemp’s president. “Everybody went nuts.”
Victor Kemp customers watched the game from the rooftop of the Western Metal building, which overlooks Petco Park’s left field. “We had our own set of bleachers for people to sit on,” explained Brown. “We had a lot of food and a lot of fun.”
Since 1926, Victor Kemp has been synonymous with excellent customer service and a wide selection of flooring products, Brown said. He added that his company plans to celebrate its 80th through the end of the year.
While another game of baseball isn’t in the works, Brown feels he will still hit a homerun with his customers.
“We have some great specials and deals planned for the rest of the year,” he said.
