Designers at Shaw’s recent Visions Retreat.

With the goal of better understanding the needs of today’s consumer, Shaw recently hosted a select group of interior designers during its fourth annual Visions Retreat in Dalton, Ga. The company says the designers were asked to help evaluate new products, styles, color and design in residential carpet as well as overall flooring trends. Among those attending, three designers were honored at an award ceremony.

Using input from the designers on hand, Shaw created over 500 samples of residential carpet. Included were concept boards with fabrics, textures, color palettes and photographs to inspire the creation of cutting-edge floor coverings.

During a roundtable discussion, designers looked at regional color trends and talked about the influence of media, travel, history and even the war. Emily Morrow, Shaw’s director of color, style and design noted that the designer’s input was invaluable. “Their educated opinions are treasured, appreciated and applied here at Shaw. It was inspirational to be around such a passionate, creative and talented group.” she said.
