Ken Freedman, director of sales for Fausfloor, and Steve Ehrlich, Faus' director of marketing, have resigned. They both said personal reasons led to their decision to leave the Calhoun, Ga.-based laminate flooring maker. Both Freedman and Ehrlich joined Faus about two and a half years ago.

"It wasn't an easy decision, but it's the best thing for me," Freedman toldNFT,adding that his decision was not related to Juan Flores' resignation late last year. Flores, formerly president of the Faus Group, left the company after more than a decade to "pursue other opportunities."

"I'm sure Juan left for whatever reason he felt was best, but my decision is separate," Freedman said. "I want to take some time to reconnect with my family and just regroup a little bit. Also, I wanted to make this move sooner rather than later with the beginning of the year. I certainly wish Faus the best."

Freedman noted that Faus changing its business model last year to sell its products directly to specialty retailers did not influence his decision. "The direct business model was something I endorsed," Freedman said.

Ehrlich noted his reason for resigning was "completely separate" from Freedman's. "Right now I just want to take a little time off," he said. "You'll hear from me again as soon as I know what I'm doing next."

Freedman has more than 20 years of experience working with nearly every channel in the industry. Aside from his position at Faus, he has previously held sales and marketing management positions with Hoboken, Alloc, CCA Global Partners and Mohawk Industries.

Ehrlich is also an industry veteran, with close to 20 years of experience. Like Freedman, Ehrlich was an executive at Hoboken. He has also held management positions at Color Tile and the Expo Design Center division of Home Depot.
