Karastan is introducing SmartStrand Silk, a fiber Mohawk has formerly used only in broadloom, to the rug world with its new Euphoria Collection.

“SmartStrand with its sustainability story, its durability, its built-in stain protection and its incredible softness has been a game changer from the beginning,” says Brandon Culpepper, vice president of specialty sales for Mohawk. “Now we are taking this amazing fiber family and introducing it in Karastan rugs. SmartStrand Silk is twice as soft as SmartStrand, which will make rugs in the Euphoria Collection a true joy to experience.”

SmartStrand is made in part with naturally occurring sugars from readily available and renewable corn crops. It outperforms and outlasts competing stain-resistant fibers.

Being crafted of SmartStrand Silk in the USA, the Euphoria Collection is as soft as silk, as durable as nylon and offers the beauty of wool. Patterns in this collection are transitional and relaxed: fretworks, suzanis, Persian designs and florals.
