Parex USA's new Merkrete 720 Rapid Set is a premium grade, rapid setting, medium bed mortar specifically formulated for the installation of large format ceramic tiles, gauged porcelain and irregular thickness stones that require faster setting times of 90 minutes or less, according to the company.

“Producing a medium bed mortar that dries quickly fits the requirements for the large format tile trends we’re seeing in the market place today,” says Luciano Tavares, brand manager for merkrete. “Not only is the product made for durability, it will also save time during the application process. It’s a great product for a variety of projects that demand quicker setting times including malls, hospitals, schools and public spaces.’’

Accoriding to Tavares, the new 720 Rapid Set also allows for easy adjustments against lippage and exceeds ANSI A118.4 and ANSI A118.11 standards.

The addition of 720 Rapid Set rounds out Merkrete’s full line of thin sets, mortars and adhesives specifically formulated for large format tiles including 855 XXL one step adhesive and 856 XLF for ultra-thin, extra large tiles.
