Bostitch smart point
Bostitch's new Smart Point nailers allow for quick and accurate nail placement through a tool nose design, according to the company.

Bostitch has introduced the Smart Point family of finish nailers.

“After extensive research, our team of engineers developed a nailer that allows for quick and accurate nail placement through a tool nose design which integrates the contact trip,” said Jorge Silveira, product manager. According to Silveira, the noses on these new finish nailers are 80% smaller than previous Bostitch nailers, and eliminate the need to push against the work surface to actuate. This allows users to fit the nose into narrow spaces, improving visibility for accurate nail placement compared to previous Bostitch nailers. Smart Point technology is available on four Bostitch finish nailers: 18 GA Brad Nailer, 16 GA Finish Nailer, 15 GA “DA” Style Finish Nailer and 15 GA “FN” Style Finish Nailer.

Designed for finish and trim work, the new Smart Point nailers tout a variety of additional features including an oil-free design to provide long life, and to help prevent staining the work surface, according to the company. They also feature a selectable trigger system for sequential or contact actuation, rear exhaust to direct air away from the user, tool-free nail jam release for easy nail removal and Dial-A-Depth control for precise countersinking of nails. For ease of use, these nailers are also equipped with an air fitting, adjustable belt hook and pencil sharpener.

Complete with a seven year limited warranty, the four Smart Point nailers each include the tool, carrying case, 1/4 inch fitting, sample nails, pencil sharpener, 3 no-mar tips and belt hook. The Smart Point family includes an 18 GA Brad Nailer (BTFP12233); 16 GA Finish Nailer (BTFP71917); 15 GA “DA” Style Finish Nailer (BTFP72155); 15 GA “FN” Style Finish Nailer (BTFP72156), and are available at construction supply stores, lumbers yards and on-line retailers.
