Window treatments manufacturer Hunter Douglas has won a Telly Award for its online education course for dealers titled “The Adventures of Small Business Marketing.”

Now in its 35th year, the Telly Awards honors local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, video and film productions and online commercials, videos and films. Nearly 12,000 entries were received from all 50 states and numerous countries, according to the company.

“The Adventures of Small Business Marketing” won a Bronze Telly for its animation work. According to Amy Lund, Hunter Douglas director of the customer education group, the course teaches about the principles of marketing and features animated marketing lessons and activities through the eyes of a Hunter Douglas Gallery Dealer, which are dealers who offer a complete shopping experience. The Hunter Douglas Customer Education Group, based at the Hunter Douglas Window Fashions Division in Broomfield, Colo., leveraged its in-house graphics, writing, voice acting and online education creation and management talents to produce this out-of-the-box educational experience.

“The Adventures of Small Business Marketing” also won a Trade Education award in the Window Covering Manufacturers Association (WCMA) Product Awards, the benchmark of industry excellence.

“We are honored to receive recognition for this highly successful course,” said Lund. “Upon completion of ‘The Adventures of Small Business Marketing,’ many of our users commented on their need to incorporate periodic reviews of their own marketing strategies and to establish realistic marketing goals.”
