Dover Rug & Home in partnership with the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID)-New England, will present The Art of the Weave, a family-friendly event on March 29 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dover Rug Showroom in Boston.

Children and adults are invited to enjoy pattern discovery, a scavenger hunt, creating their own rug design and receiving a souvenir photo. Those who share their photo on Facebook will be entered into a drawing for an artisan rug.

“We are excited to provide an in-depth look at rug making and the intricacies of textile design, some of the world’s most beautiful art forms,” said Mahmud Jafri, Dover's CEO. “For years we’ve sponsored a successful educational program for children, introducing them to the art of rug making. This event expands on that idea, incorporates fabrics and is one the entire family will enjoy.”

The Art of the Weave presentation event is free, and refreshments will be served.
