Armstrong's new Modular Merchandising System retail displays for its hard surface products.

Armstrong's new Modular Merchandising System retail displays for its hard surface products make both the shopping process for consumers trouble-free and the selling process for retail sales associates easy, according to the company.

According to Katie Raymond, independent channel marketing manager-Armstrong Floor Products, much of the work around increasing sales and profitability is done around merchandising, including professional retail store layout. The way products are presented is a crucial component. Armstrong’s new modular displays make it easier to see and browse product and delivers on a good brand experience.

“We continue to conduct a great deal of research—with consumers, with our retailers whether it be through focus groups, shop-alongs or surveys to help ensure that the in-store experience is a positive one,” added Raymond.

The displays offer uniformity at retail with a consistent design, regardless of format, across categories for all Armstrong and Bruce brands (including resilient—sheet and luxury vinyl tile (LVT)—hardwood and laminate). The Armstrong Modular System is intended to work for all categories and with different messaging as well as potentially slightly different configurations—cabinet for storage, or no door with shelves for builder boards/portfolios and so forth. Most configurations focus on good product reveal, utilizing large samples, making it easier to visualize how that floor might look installed.

“The merchandising displays help to navigate the full range of options and demonstrate sensitivity to customer preferences,” said Raymond. They are there to do more than simply present products—they can help increase sales while maintaining a focus on stylish, high-quality products to visually show the story, and provide customers the options and variety available, keeping all of their needs (budget, style, performance, etc.) in mind.”

In addition, the modular and updatable design makes them easier and less expensive to add or changeover the offering displayed. The design is meant to meet the demands for a range of showroom sizes. It does not obscure line of sight across the floor but allows for ample room to message, educate and trade-up.
