Informa Exhibitions U.S., Construction & Real Estate and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) have announced that indie soul/pop band Fitz and The Tantrums will headline the Greenbuild celebration, scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 19 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.

“[Fitz and The Tantrums'] music, combined with the ambiance of the Newseum, is the perfect setting for a festive celebration of another successful Greenbuild,” said Lindsay Roberts, Informa's Greenbuild show director.

New this year, the celebration will take place separately from the opening plenary, which is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 18 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The celebration will begin with a networking reception and end with the band’s performance.

“The Greenbuild celebration and musical entertainment is one of the highlights of the conference for the thousands of attendees who join us from around the globe each year,” said Kate Hurst, vice president, community engagement, conferences and events, USGBC.

The band said, “We always aim to do our part to shine a light on the issues that mean the most to us, and we’re committed to promoting energy-saving initiatives that will protect the environment.”

Tickets to the celebration are included in the purchase price of a full conference pass, four day pass, Thursday day pass, or can be purchased separately for $75 to $100.
