Philadelphia Floor Store (PFS) has launched the 'Lessons Learned' blog series.

The company developed the idea for the series in the wake of a recent fire that completely destroyed its headquarters and distribution center. According to the company, the goal of the series is to help other small business owners avoid insurance pitfalls and be prepared should disaster strike.

After what the company has been through these past few months, PFS feels an obligation to educate contractors and other small business owners and help them avoid some of the common (and not so common) pitfalls related to insurance coverage and disaster recovery, said Mike Glavin, owner and founder of PFS.

“We have always committed time and effort to educate our contractors, so it only seemed natural to pass along what we learned in the wake of the fire,” he said.

PFS will post several Lessons Learned blog features in the upcoming weeks.

“Our blog is a powerful communication tool, so what better way to provide our customers with the information they need to troubleshoot and proactively develop solutions that leave them prepared should disaster strike,” said Caran Baxter, PFS' marketing coordinator.
