An entertainer’s dream, the alfresco lifestyle movement inspired us to extend our living space to the great outdoors.

The Seamless Sanctuary trend takes the concept further with surfaces designed to create a fabulous flow, blurring the lines between and exteriors rooms, according to Emily Holle, creative director, MSI. Indoor tile with matching patio pavers in materials like porcelain create an airy look and feel, allowing guests to transition in and out in a more fluid, natural way. Here are a few ways MSI is interpreting this trend:

Concerto Collection

Every dream space begins with a spark of inspiration. Indoor/outdoor collections like Concerto can set a project in motion rather quickly – especially for those hoping to achieve seamless sightlines, Holle said.  A top-trending color and a cement look combine in low-maintenance 24 x 24 and 18 x 36 porcelain tiles and pavers. Hints of grey come to life in a slightly weathered concrete-look finish, proving affordable luxury is alive and well in indoor-to-outdoor lineups.

Arterra Pavers

Creating daydreamy outdoor havens just got easier. Now 30-colors strong, Arterra Porcelain Pavers mix stone and wood looks with the durability of porcelain. A low-maintenance phenom in the hardscape market, MSI is debuting new rectangular sizes at Coverings: 16 x 36 and 18 x 36. Designed with coordinating copings, the collection withstands freeze-thaw cycles when set on grass, sand, or installedwith mortar over a concrete bed.

Bluestone

A fixture in design magazines and on social media, Bluestone has developed following over the years. “We channeled our love for the natural stone by reimagining it in our Arterra Porcelain Pavers lineup,” Holle said. “Bluestone’s rustic yet modern looks may be confused with the Pennsylvania quarry variety, but when installing on floors—indoors and outdoors—few are likely to forget how easy they are to maintain.

Fossil Snow Pattern

Some styles become bestsellers faster than anyone can predict. According to Holle, the Fossil Snow is one of those fly-off-the-shelf early favorites. “Maybe it’s the icy white tone and subtle pattern, or perhaps it’s the matte finish, but being part of the Arterra Porcelain Paver lineage certainly helps,” she said. “The kit comes with pre-cut pieces, so installing indoors or outdoors is super simple. Kits are very unique in porcelain pavers.”
