Mohawk Group has introduced EcoFlex Matrix ULC, a modular carpet backing that achieves an ultra-low carbon footprint of just 3.92 kilograms of CO2 per square meter.

Unveiled on Earth Day, April 22, 2025, this innovative product represents the lowest carbon footprint in Mohawk Group's entire product portfolio while maintaining the performance and durability customers expect from the EcoFlex Matrix line.

"EcoFlex Matrix ULC represents a significant leap forward in our journey to create more sustainable flooring solutions," said Jackie Dettmar, vice president of marketing, design, and product development for Mohawk Group.

The product's lighter weight construction not only reduces material usage but also lowers transportation costs and associated carbon emissions. With higher recycled content and enhanced resource efficiency, EcoFlex Matrix ULC demonstrates the company's commitment to its "Believe in Better" philosophy.

Manufacturing takes place at Mohawk Group's Living Site facility in Glasgow, Virginia, which has earned recognition through the Living Product Challenge Petal Certification. The facility employs production processes specifically designed to minimize waste and environmental impact.
