AUBURN, Calif. -- Advanced Flooring Specialists (AFS) will offer training for “color blenders” from October through December at the World Floor Covering Association (WFCA) headquarters in Anaheim, Calif. Color blenders specialize in correcting sidematch problems for carpet mills.

The five-day training sessions offer instruction on color theory, sidematch detection, hands on dye blending, hands-on color blending with sidematched carpet, and a test on the last day. Master color blenders from around the country will supervise the hands-on training. Each expert will assist ten trainees.

The first session is on Oct. 29-Nov. 3 and will only accept the first 30 participants to register from California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, and Arizona. The second session from Dec. 3-7 is open to trainees from every state.

The training session costs $1000.00. If for any reason you return home and fail to have an acceptable success rate, AFS will pay one of the Master Color Blenders to give you further training.

Jim Walker of the International Certified Floor Covering Installers Association recently formed Color Correction Specialists, a company that has contracted with AFS to provide it with trained Color Blenders.
