‘Makes great business sense': Abbey agrees to support WFCA training
Abbey
Carpet and its Abbey Carpet and Floor, Floors to Go and The Floor Club stores have
signed on as partners in the World Floor Covering Association’s recent certification
initiative. The Bonita Springs, Fla.-based company joins other industry
heavyweights CCA Global Partners, Armstrong and Mohawk in an effort to increase
professionalism and knowledge through WFCA-certified training.
Phil Gutierrez, Abbey’s chairman and CEO said taking on the program will help its members. “We support this program which we believe will directly benefit members by providing them easy access to ongoing training and education opportunities, ultimately leading to industry certification,” he said.
The WFCA offers three levels of certification. Certified Flooring Executive (CFE) is available for owners and managers. Certified Flooring Sales Consultant (CFS) is designed for sales personnel. Additionally, Certified Flooring Professional (CFP) is aimed at cleaners, restorers, installers and inspectors. Programs are offered both in classrooms and online.
“We share the common goal of wanting to raise the level of professionalism in the industry and at the same time recognizing those individuals who have taken steps to advance their knowledge,” noted D. Christopher Davis, WFCA’s president and CEO. “It makes great business sense for everyone involved.”
