J&J Industries was named the winner of the furnishings category for the 2009 Evergreen Awards, presented recently by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to recognize  efforts in recycling, affirmative procurement and waste reduction. J&J Industries provides carpet for GSA through the J+J/Invision brand.

“This award is a significant acknowledgement for J&J Industries. It represents the hard work and extreme focus of sustainability that our company and employees have felt passionately about for many years,” said David Jolly, J&J Industries’ president and coo.

J&J Industries’ environmental initiatives are centered around EnAct, the company’s organization-wide focus on reducing, recycling, reusing and sustainability. EnAct’s accomplishments include collecting more than 70,000 pounds of recyclable materials, diverting more than 84,000 pounds of waste annually, and achieving significant reductions in waste management, electrical and water consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions.
