Texan Floor Service and Mannington Commercial are partnering to expand the manufacturer's VCT n2 VCT recycling program, which reclaims large quantities of VCT and recycles it into new flooring products. Renovation sites in the Southeastern United States looking to remove VCT can contact Texan Floor Service to determine if their project qualifies for the recycling program, atwww.texanfloor.com.

"During the first years of our VCT reclamation program, we took back tile from renovation sites within 500 miles of our New Jersey facilities," said Zack Zehner, Mannington's vp – commercial hard surface. "As we have become more efficient and continue to push product development into new and sustainable frontiers, we are increasing our ability to incorporate recycled content. So we are always looking for the right partners to expand our reclamation program and help us close the materials loop."

"Mannington is pushing the envelope of reclamation in flooring. We applaud their efforts to step up and make a difference in recycling VCT, and we're glad to be a part of it," added Jeff K. Hill, Texan Floor Service founder. "We are making a concerted effort to reach out to the community, to keep as much VCT out of landfills as possible. Why throw it away? Let's recycle it."

The partnership lines up perfectly with Mannington's needs, as the flooring manufacturer looks to increase the amount of recycled flooring it is incorporating into a range of products including VCT, rubber tile, wall base, carpet and resilient sheet flooring, according to Mannington.

Products created from the recycling program include Progressions tile flooring, and Premium Tile with 25 percent post-consumer content. The recycling program has been honored with a Green GOOD DESIGN award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, and the products it produces are certified as Environmentally Preferable Products at the Gold level, to NSF/ANSI-332 standards Sustainability Assessment Standard for Resilient Floor Coverings.

Mannington Commercial is a vendor with StarNet Worldwide Commercial Flooring Partnership, and Texan Floor Service is a member; the companies connected through the association.
