The Flooring Contractors Association's (FCICA) Installation Manager Taskforce has developed a purpose statement for the Certified Installation Manager (CIM) Program.

During the FCICA Mid-Year meeting, the Installation Manager Taskforce met to discuss and further develop the new CIM Program. One of the accomplishments to come from that is the CIM purpose statement, which is as follows:

The CIM Program provides training tools and assessment for qualified professionals within the commercial flooring industry to enhance their core skill set, experience and knowledge base, which are necessary to successfully manage commercial flooring installation projects. Individuals who reach this level of expertise will be easily distinguished by their achievement of the CIM designation. Following obtainment of CIM designation, the program continues by mandating necessary CEUs to raise our industry’s value and standards of excellence.

“The fact that this group of contractors and manufacturer members are so passionate and dedicated to the CIM Program’s success that they gave several hours of their personal time on a Saturday morning to develop this purpose statement, tells me that the industry is screaming in volume for this type of program to raise the bar for installation managers," said Bruce Reeve, Installation Manager Taskforce chairman.

The Installation Manager Taskforce will continue to meet to enhance the CIM Program and support commercial flooring contractors by providing educational opportunities, he said.
