The Carpet Shoppe Unveils Dream Kitchen and Bath Studio in Honolulu
American Floor & Home Location Adds a Destination Design Showroom

American Floor & Home is located in Honolulu, Hawaii, and is a Carpet One Floor & Home store serving the Oahu market.

With its stunning new showroom, The Carpet Shoppe is perfectly positioned to turn homeowners' dreams into reality.

The Carpet Shoppe's journey from a traditional flooring retailer to a comprehensive design destination reflects the evolving needs of today's consumers who seek one-stop solutions for their home improvement projects.

The showroom's crown jewel vignette features Ultra Craft cabinets and Emser's Enhance Line porcelain accent wall, complemented by natural pebble shower pans and Surface Art wall tile. The main floor showcases Emser's Entry Picket tile.

The Carpet Shoppe in Honolulu has brought its showroom vision to life with the grand opening of a spectacular Kiba Kitchen and Bath Studio showroom.
Led by President Daniel Arita and VP of Operations April Katada, following the recent retirement of the company founder, The Carpet Shoppe, a CCA Global member, operates as an umbrella company with locations, including Pro Source, Flooring America, and a Carpet One American Floor & Home/Kiba Studios location.
The remodel of their American Floor & Home location began as a dream in 2019 and has culminated in a breathtaking space featuring nine distinct vignettes that inspire homeowners to reimagine their living spaces.
"The showroom is designed to inspire every homeowner to dream," said Katada. "We want them to see their dreams for their kitchen and bath come to life in different parts of the home."
The American Floor & Home location joined Kiba Studios in July 2019, hiring a construction manager and starting with a team of six—including managers, carpenters, and a designer. Their first project launched February 1, 2020, with a $60,000 kitchen remodel. Today, five years later, the numbers tell an impressive story of growth: over 250 completed projects ranging from $10,000 to over $400,000, with a team that has doubled to 12 members.
The company now operates a dedicated warehouse for construction and kitchen and bath products, and has begun stocking white shaker kitchen cabinets under their private label, Island Pro.
A Showroom Built for Inspiration
The grand opening celebration drew over 200 attendees, including HGTV renovation show personalities and industry executives from Cali, Duchateau, Mohawk and Shaw. The two-year renovation process completely transformed what was previously the carpet showroom into a sophisticated design destination.
The showroom features nine carefully curated vignettes, each telling a different story:
- The Spa Suite - The showroom's crown jewel features Ultra Craft cabinets and Emser's Enhance Line porcelain accent wall, complemented by natural pebble shower pans and Surface Art wall tile. The main floor showcases Emser's Entry Picket tile.
- The Wine Bar - A sophisticated space featuring Surface Art's "Sticks" tile in horse color, paired with Belmont cabinetry that includes all the bells and whistles: pull-out step stools for accessibility, wine storage, and push-open functionality.
- Main Kitchen - A dramatic darker kitchen showcasing the current trend of mixed colors and finishes.
- Galley Kitchen - Perfect for condo living, featuring the company's own Island Pro white shaker line paired with Cafe appliances with rose gold accents.
- Custom Desk Area - A playful Belmont desk in custom pink and mint colors, demonstrating the brand's ability to match any Sherwin-Williams paint color for personalized designs.
- Entertainment Center - A custom entertainment center showing how cabinet companies can create tailored solutions beyond traditional kitchen and bath applications.
- Tidy Square Closet System - A CTA Pro Source closet organization system complete with built-in hampers and jewelry organizers, proving that luxury and functionality can coexist.
- Mudroom with Pet Washing Station - A practical yet beautiful space that addresses real-life needs with style.
- Coffee Bar - Because every busy professional needs their caffeine station.
The showroom emphasizes premium flooring throughout, featuring hardwood from Duchateau, Karastan, and Anderson Tuftex. The strategic use of hardwood and tile creates cohesive flow while allowing each vignette to showcase different design personalities—from bright and airy to moody and sophisticated.
The Carpet Shoppe's success with Kiba Studios demonstrates the value of the CCA Global Partners network. Monthly calls, design support, and access to Kiba's team of designers provide crucial backing for the local team. The company leverages CCA conferences and industry connections to stay current with trends and vendor relationships.

"Being part of CCA gives us access to this wealth of knowledge that's already mapped out for us," Katada said. "They streamline vendors and guide us through our business growth."
The showroom serves as a powerful tool for the kitchen and bath team, as well as sales associates, to inspire customers, realtors, and design professionals.
