Classen, Unilin resolve patent disputes
The Classen Group and the Unilin
Group have reached an agreement to settle all patent disputes between the two
companies regarding the glueless locking technology of laminate flooring
products.
The court cases will be terminated as a result of the two companies entering a Cross License Agreement which allows the Classen Group to continue selling its products under the Unilin glueless patents, while allowing the Unilin Group the “possibility to use Classen’s patented push-down-connection for its products,” according to the Unilin Group.
Unilin, part of the Mohawk Group, manufactures, distributes and markets laminate flooring in Europe and the United States. Unilin, which also patented the Uniclic glueless installation system, sells its laminate flooring products under the Quick-Step brand through independent distributors.
