Quick•Step was recently featured in a bedroom transformation episode of Oprah’s "Home Made Simple" television series.

Quick•Step's Brownstone Hickory from the Home Collection was selected by the show’s interior designers for a project that gave back to a single mother.

As a teacher and mother, Priscilla Grant's dream was to raise her daughter to buck the neighborhood trend and go to college. Her dream came true when her daughter, Kourtney, was accepted into the University of California Berkeley. As Kourtney prepared to leave for school, Priscilla bought her very first home—a true fixer-upper. Priscilla wanted to create a fun, relaxing bedroom, so that Kourtney had a place she could call her own in their new home.

According to show producers, an important premise of "Home Made Simple" is that the show’s interior designers purposely use products and make changes that are beautiful and stylish as well as affordable for consumers.

"The level of realism and sophisticated design in Quick•Step flooring brings the authentic look and feel of a hardwood floor into a home, at a price that fits into most decorating budgets," said a Quick•Step representative. "Quick•Step floors are also easy to install, because they feature the patented Uniclic glueless installation locking system. As viewers watch the transformation of Kourtney’s bedroom from a true fixer-upper into a stylish living space, they witness how a new Quick•Step floor can literally be installed in one day, but enjoyed for years to come."

Kourtney’s newly, transformed bedroom became a space that replicated the simple and relaxing decor of a circa 1940s bedroom—with some modern, chic artistic touches sprinkled in. Upon this design foundation, the team created a vintage 1940s ambience that included a soft color palette of white, cream and light gray; straight drapery and bedding lines reminiscent of this simpler time period in American life and furniture as well as decorative pieces that are singular in nature and used sparingly around the room. The team completed the look by creating a homemade version of vintage black and white newspaper wallpaper and the illusion of antique tin ceiling tiles.
