As 2013 kicks off, we find ourselves once again in the throes of reflection, reminiscence and, of course, resolution; resolving to start this or stop that (or at least dial it back a bit) in order to better ourselves and those around us.
Back in October, the Starnet Worldwide Commercial Flooring Partnership held its annual fall membership meeting at the Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas. Starnet is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and the fun continued for three full days at Barton Creek.

For years it’s been said that proceeding with an installation constitutes acceptance by the contractor of the substrate and job conditions. In fact, a quote by one flooring manufacturer states that “Installation of any material and flooring related products constitutes acceptance of all materials and site related conditions by the installation contractor.”
Today, LVT is hot because of its deliverables – good aesthetics and high performance, especially in areas where moisture is concerned – coupled with the value proposition.

Sometimes it gets awfully lonely for a business owner who is supposed to have all the answers. Your employees, suppliers and your banker think you have it all squared away, and are you really going to tell them otherwise? Nope; for better or worse, most owners keep such things for themselves…along with the panic attacks at 3:00 am and that feeling of anxiety continually dragging them down.
While one could argue there’s been a subtle decline in the social graces in recent years, it would take the oratory of Aristotle to convince me you can point the finger at a singular cause.
